Default Long time SC owner. Car broken into.. End of an era

My car was broke into last night. My door keylocks are all destroyed,
my sidemarkers are gone, and my interior looks like a wired jungle...
The stereo/cd changer are gone. trunk doesn't open.

I've had this car for almost 8 years and I've enjoyed adding to it and
sharing w/it on this forum.

IT'S THE END OF AN ERA.

If I decide to salvage, I'm going to post the rest of the aftermarket parts on the forum for other SC400 owners. My loss is definitely your gain.

There's still a lot of parts left on the car that may be of interest to you.

-Custom LED taillights from Clearcorners
-Amber LED foglights from clearcorners
-Custom black painted headlights w/bmw 5 series OEM projectors (w/two sets of real xenon bulbs)
-Custom Black/Tan leather seats
-Momo floor mats w/brushed aluminum footrests
-Momo aluminum/leather steering wheel
-Momo aluminum/leather parking brake
-INjen intake
-Toyota Supra brakes/calipers/rotors
-And some Eclipse stereo stuff (DSP, amp, tv tuner...whatever's still there)

As soon as I get all the details I'll post up..

Sigh!! I feel you bro!
No matter how much we love our cars, how much we baby our rides, there are always factors that cannot be covered.

Cheer up dude! Just think about the positive side: you now have a good reason to start another one.

Jesus. I am so sorry to hear this! I know what it feels like, and it just makes me so freakin angry to hear this happening to you! It sucks that this signifies an end of an era for you.. but like others have said, I'm sure you will move on to bigger and better things, and by things I mean mod friendly cars

Hey Mike,
Sorry to hear about your ride. I know you're one of the original CL members and I really admired your car.
Recently all I hear is people talking about how their car got broken into in the apartment/complex/public garage where their car is being kept.
My one friend in San Jose got robbed for almost a grand in stereo equipment. He picked up another HU just to have something (this is his DD) and 2 weeks after the first break-in, they went for it again, and this time took his new HU, his CF hood, and busted up his door lock as well as the ignition switch.

Lack of a real parking space close to me is the reason I work in San Francisco, but live all the way out in Redwood City. I do not, and will not trust a public parking garage with my baby. Even at my house where the car has to be in the driveway due to a very small garage, I am contemplating picking up a Q-See Video Monitoring system from Costco.
With the amount of time and money we put into our cars, and the fact that insurance companies don't recognize any of it when it comes to paying you out for your loss, I have a hard time sleeping at night knowing that my car is un-protected.

I really hope your insurance doesn't stiff you on this, and I hope you will find another SC to love.

~Alan
