Default Backed into a tree with my IS300!

So over a week ago I was leaving my mom's place and this tree came out of no where and hit my car. Yea I backed into a tree late at nite and well it wasn't a pretty sight. Take a look at the pics:

So this weekend I decided to see how well my polishing skills were. I had a pretty big challenge. I knew most of the scratches were probably way too deep to take out but I had nothing to lose. I figured it was going to get reapainted anyway. Below are the after pics of me buffing my car. I probably spent a good 45 minutes to an hour on it. I'm pretty happy with my results although I may attack a few more times. I think I may repaint my L-Tuned skirt.

In case you guys want to know what I used. I had a porter cable with an orange lake country pad. I did about 5 to 6 passes with Menzerna Power Gloss mixed with Clearkote Red Moose Glaze. Cut 70%(Menezera)/30%Red Moose. Then several passes with Menzerna PO106FF and Red Moose cut the same way. Let me know what you guys think.

Yea seriously I knew I had to give the right of way to people but not trees.

Anyway I'm just glad I was able to get most of those scratches out. Now I just need to replace a tailight and replace a clip on the bumper.

Sure man I can take care of you. I've done several other Norcal cars now. Just PM and let me know what your schedule is like.

Sure dude I can detail it for a fee of course. I've done several other cars from this forum. I actually did bchau's M3 this weekend along with my bumper. PM if you want me to do it.

Manny did a great job on my car this past weekend. Too bad my wife actually decided to drive it this week, now that it's all clean and shiny. I was hoping to take some pictures of it during the day too. It'll probably be dirty again by the time I get a chance.

We spent a lot of time detailing the car (several hours), we did a rinse, wash, rinse, clay bar, polish with Manny's Porter Cable, and then some spray wax to finish it off. The paint came out nice and smooth (though we could probably clay some more) and it has a very nice glossy shine and even looks a little deeper.

Thanks again Manny!

It was fun to do. Let me know when we can do it again. We'll start early in the morning and take some before and after shots. The IS300 is next! Just let me know when you are ready. Thanks to everyone's comments, I feel better about my bumper now. I hope to complete my fix sometime in the coming weeks. I need to fix/replace the tail light, replace the side marker, and fix a broken clip on the bumper.

Default Hit and run by a tree.

Nice job Manny. I'll be sure to get that side marker for you this week end.
