I am on the CL forums a lot but rarely post because I always find my answer hidden away somewhere. In spite of this, I need help!

As the title of this thread implies I am looking for a tint job somewhere in the Bay Area/Central Valley region. I've tried YELP but the reviews are mixed and my gut is telling me to not trust the reviews on there. So I thought, who better to ask than people who drive a Lexus as well?

Anyways, I'm in the market for tinting my is250. Price is not a problem and distance not so much as well - just stay in the NorCal region lol.

Mr. Tint is a pretty good place. good reviews on yelp too and there's also a yelp discount if you mention that you found out about them from there i believe

 

King tint and best image is pretty good. High reviews on yelp, I got mine done in Hayward before I found out about them.

 

I also highly recommend Vince over at Omega Werks! he is the owner AND the guy doing all the work, so you can rest assured that he'll take good care of your car...if there are any imperfections, you can always bring it back and he'll take care of it free of charge

they actually take your door panels off to tint the windows.

I'm going to do all of my windows including sun roof and a 8" across the windshield with Formula One Pinnacle series ceramic film. Not only will it not interfere with AM channels (in case I need to hear traffic news), GPS or Radar detector. Formula One product doesn't have color fade and their warranty covers that unlike 3M film which I had for about 5 years on both of my previous cars have color fade.

Since my RX already has the colored privacy glass, on the rear 5 windows, I'm going with 15% to achieve Limo tint. 50% tint up front driver and passenger side windows
15% for the sun roof and windshield. This is all being done at Pro tint in Stockton, CA

 

While I was doing my research for my tint, I called them and they told me for the IS250, it will be $180 for all 7 windows, and +$50 for their carbon tint.

I went with Best Image in San Mateo for their price, I got quoted $160 for all windows, even after bringing up the $150 as some people on this forum got quoted. $10 wasn't worth the hassle of them thinking negatively of me.

Anyways, I just got my back windows tinted for $120 because I'm afraid of the cops He even told me not to get the fronts done because cops are super strict right now. He told me I can get the fronts done whenever I want for $40 if I changed my mind.

 

^You have to pay to play =) its okay, as long as I've had my tints I've only gotten pulled over once all because of my DRLs..but he let me off anyways.

One of my lady friends got pulled over 3x in a week for talking on the cell phone. No ticket.
That same week I get pulled over for being on the phone, which I never put up to my ear except this one time. I get pulled over and ticket is immediately issued. Go figure.

 

You need to work on your charm Rich! I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago for "cutting off" (I had like 3 car lengths on him) a slow *** Prius, while speeding, with illegal tints and no front plates. The cop let me off with a warning.

Wow you're lucky. I wonder is it because I got pulled over by a cop who wants to give tickets. You know the ones camped by the corner of the road waiting to turn on their lights for anything illegal.
