Default Will any dealership turn off my DRLs?

I've been to both Lexus of Serramonte and Stevens Creek and they both said that they coulden't turn off the DRLs due to "SAFETY" reasons and a new law that will come into effect somteime in the future . Anyone know where who I can go to turn these off? I know its really no big deal but i just like the way the 2IS looks when they are off...

they are suppose to do it actually if you request it. Try going to marin or colliseum. I dont think there is a law in effect because then every other car maker would have to add them. you could pull out the fuse if you want

Steven's Creek turned mine off about 3 weeks ago. No questions asked. You can always say you work at a military base and they require you to have 0 lights on when you approach the gate.

Hmm..
I did not know this DLR mod.
So if it can be forced off, how does it lights up again?
Does dealer charge on this adjustment?

Thanks

Any service writter should take this as a free service. It is customer preference setting only. Nothing to be repaired or inspected. (My opinion only )

We have two local memebrs who work at Lexus. I'm thinking they could even do it for you directly while at a meet, etc.

I'll leave it up to "them" to identify themselves as it wouldn't be right for me to obligate them to do it for you.

Thanks for the help guys. Just got it done at Magnussen's the other day. It took a while tho. The first person i talked to said it wasnt possible, then went to another and said i couldent be done also but just went into the service bay just to make sure. When he got back he said it could be done (yay) and it will take about an hour. So i just waited in the showroom and chilled on my computer till it was done. Man, magnussens is one of the nicest dealerships ive been to. They have a coffee shop, massage chairs, ps2, and even a salon!

Intrinsic,
So how does your DRLs work right now? Are you driving without DRL on during day time and able to turn it on without turning the main headlights on?

My DRLs are off now whenever my lows are off. the DRLs are separate from the small wedge lights that turn on when you turn on your low beams. when the DRLs are on the high beams are on half intensity. i hope that makes sense
