Default nor cal area

i'm from CL so cal area and will be in the san jose area next month. was wondering if you nor cal friends can provide any nice shopping places of interest or other things to do up there. i'll be flying up on a fri and leaving on a sun. any ideas/suggestions fellow nor cal CL friends?

i was also thinking to stop by exact motorsports for the daizen control arm bushings, if they still have them...but my car only has about 30k miles...would you guys recommend i change them out now?

also just wondering, are there any CL members in the area of the 880 fwy and auto mall prkwy? my main office is in that area, kind of near that lexus dealer, and i always stay at a hotel near the mcdonalds off the exit, just before automall pkwy (forgot what exit that is). i been travelling up there often for business this year, but, have not seen any mod'd lexus'

well, hope to see some mod'd lexus' next time i'm up there!

There is quite a few of us in Fremont Mission area (7-8 minutes from where you are staying). And I wouldn't get the CA bushings unless your current ones have problems. But it's not a bad idea to get the SR bushings.

Go visit Santana Row in Santa Clara. It's the best place for shopping, fine dining, and people watching.

Not so much people watching unless if you enjoy looking at silicon valley engineers and IT specialists. It gets better during the weekends but don't say I didn't warn ya.

It is about 25 minutes away or 20 miles. From fremont, take i880-N, exit stevens creek and youll have Valley Fair mall to the right, and Santana Row to the left. You might want to try bar hopping around downtown San Jose or even better just goto San Francisco.

Also, since you're in Fremont, check out Great Mall in Milpitas. It is much closer to you, and is probably the most riceboy crowd you'll find in a 10mile radius of Fremont. They have Dave & Busters there, which is pretty much the place to go in Milpitas. Milpitas also use to host the "runs" or illegal street racing but got destroyed after the movie "fast and furious" came out.

I work for a company that produces equipment for Robotic Surgery, which is largely driven by engineers and sales. I'm around the Sunnyvale or Cupertino area.

Actually from Fremont you'd want to take 880-S, not north.

mrurmil~thanks for the directions!

habitat~i always see the great mall on my way to/from my hq office on the 880-sounds like a plan. stevens creek sounds really familiar...will probably check that out too. i'm kind of familiar with cupertino (i know where apple is and where they're relocating to) since my client is located there.

If you're familiar with cupertino and like to drink, try Britannia Arms for good UK/Euro beer + music, Duke of Edinburgh for even better UK/Euro beer or B&J's Brew (which you are prob familiar with comming from SoCal) for a sports bar scene. Sorry for listing just spots to drink, but thats all I do around here...

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much for D&B, its more of a younger scene... (Although only 21+ allowed past 11pm)

If you goto Downtown San Jose, check these spots out Tiki Lounge, San Jose Bar and Grill, Mission Ale, and Temple.

Again lots of drinking... but ask someone else if you want to do otherwise

You're talking about the Cushing Blvd exit. Do you stay at the Marriott (nice) or the Good Day Inn (bad)?

What company do you visit when you are up here?
