Mag Lexus in Fremont Service Dept?
Hi guys:
I'm taking my IS350 in for its 5K service at Magnusson in Fremont tomorrow morning. I didn't buy the car there, but I work a mile away, so it's more convenient for me. I assume it's free and I don't need to do any special explaining right? I'm also hoping their shuttle will be available somewhat quickly as I don't want to be too late for work.
Hopefully people had good experiences at the dealer, but if anybody has anything significant I should watch out for, please let me know.
I think of a couple of guys on the forum work in service there, so please take good care of the SGM IS350 you see tomorrow morning at 8:40! Thanks!

Everything went well at the dealership. The "shuttle" to my work turned out to be a LS430, so that was a nice touch.
The only thing that was somewhat disappointing was that I saw 5w-30 on the work order. When I mentioned to the service advisor regarding the possibility of the TSIB saying 5w-20 from now on, he said he never heard of it for the IS, only the LS. Oh well, it's not a big deal, I guess, though I'd hate to be giving up gas mileage for the next 5K miles if there is indeed a significant difference in that regard. Still, the TSIB has been out since March of 2006, and my factory fill is most likely 5w-20, so it's a little disappointing that they weren't on top of it.
Then again, if it wasn't for this forum, I wouldn't know or care anyway.

Yes. I drove the LFA.

I know of the TSIB, but as far as i knew, that was simply a document stating that it is now ok to use the thinner oil in these engines. When we do oil changes on the LS460, we use 0w-20. We dont even carry 5w20 to my knowledge. To both of our benefits, i will bring up the issue to our DS when i get back to work.
On a positive note, im glad you had a good experience at Magnussen. The LS shuttle is definately a nice touch. We have had that for over a year now i beleive.

Again, probably not a big deal, and I'll recommend Mag Lexus to people getting their work done. Everybody was friendly and respectful.
