I use a size 00 or 000 brush to fill up small chips. This sometimes is done over several days so that the paint layers have time to dry and shrink. On the final coats, I also mix about a 50/50 0f color with clear paint so that the touch up has some gloss to it.

Once I have built up the layers I will sand very carefully with a small sanding block using 1500 or 2000 grit wet sandpaper, to make it flush with the original paint

You can then buff out the dulled sanded paint with a light buffing compound or use Meguires Scratch -X by hand. Tjis stuff works great.

Fair Warning: you need to sand the original paint very lightly so you don't sand through the clear paint. Do this DIY at your own risk.

Good Luck

Actually experimenting with Lanka right now, trying to fill up rock chips on my hood. First try I let the touch up paint dry overnight and when I did the blob removal step it removed all the touch up paint. Trying to build up now and allowing to dry 24hours per coat. I'll keep you posted. Wish me luck

Okay here's the verdict with regards to the Lanka kit. After 3 touch-up application I finally felt that I had enough paint in the chip(s) had multiple rock chips on my hood. Sorry but I tried to take a few pics but I just could not get an image that can show the damage/repair. Anyway it worked well, now it's not perfect at some angle you can still see the boarders of the chip and the fill. But only if you knew where the chip was and looked at it at a certain angle. Some tips:
1) Read the instructions.
2) CLEAN AREA WELL prior to repair.
3) Use enough touch up paint. Don't worry it does remove the blob well and leaves original paint undamage (can get scrathes if you don't use clean towels or clean a the area well).
4) Allow the paint to dry well.
5) For me using my finger instead of the blue card to remove the blob worked better. As per the instructions they recommend you try both and see what works better. I felt that it was better using my finger because you can feel the blob as you remove it until the area is flush.
5) Don't use too much force, the stuff works you can see the paint your removing on the cloth.
Hope this helps Good Luck all!
