Default Ticketed.

280/680 North.

I was driving today going speed of traffic in fast lane:
75-80 MPH...

I was pulled over and ticketed by motorcyle cop.

"Sir do you know how fast you were going?"

-Yes.

"How fast?"

-With traffic speed

"Did you know you were speeding?"

-I was going faster than 65 MPH yes.

"I clocked you at 74 MPH and 77 MPH"

-Okay.

"License and registration please"

-Sure

"By they way you have tinted windows"

-I know, I will have them removed

"Good, they are illegal"

-I know officer, thank you for the reminder.

5 min later

"Here you go, i wrote you down for speeding at 77 MPH, and a front tint. The tint is correctable but speeding is not"

Thank you

"You are free to go"

------------

I understand I was speeding in the fast lane... but i do remember getting honked nad flashed at when i drove 65 MPH in the fast lane.

I took a couple snapshots from my phone with multiple cars going 80+ mph (with me doing 77MPH and they pulling away)

Why was I pulled over and ticketed for 77 MPH?

There was soccer mom van late for picking up their children 80mph+
There were construction trucks running to finish a job goin 80+
There were seniors driving 80+ to make it to their grandchild's high school performance.

.... I needed to get 2 legal documents signed and delivered before the company loses millions...

why me...

pretty much what George says is right. Certain cars are looked at more closely. I try not to drive in the fast lane anymore if I can help it. I don't need any attention nor do I want tickets. The fast lane and carpool lanes are the 1st lanes cops watch. At least that is what my family members who are law enforcement have told me.

Did he show you a radar slip?

yeah they say that there are myths...like red cars are attracted to cops more then a brown one....people say these myths aren't true...and law enforcement say they would give a ticket to the brown ride if it was going just as fast..."according to ABC's 20/20 news reports"...but fact of the matter is whatever gets the cops attention first is what the bottom line is.

I didnt know you can get ticketed for going 75mph on the HWY. I thought it was perfectly legal to get as fast as 75. Since the set limit is 65 and others are going 75,You are suppose to go with the traffic flow am i right?

No. You are not right. They can actually even give you a ticket for speeding if you are under the legal limit but the conditions are deemed not safe for that speed. If the cop wants to be an a-hole there is not much you can do except try to fight it. But that takes time and effort and they know most people won't bother.

I dont know, Just thinking when people get tickets for going to slow or maybe even speed limit might causes traffic and that could be a safety concern?

Just thinking out loud
