I filled up at $4.789/gal at Shell today. $73.60! It's still cheaper for me than Costco. I'm lucky enough to still have 5% back on gas. Sometimes I like to pretend that 5% means $1, but it's more like 24c.

Thought it'd be fun to revisit this thread. Anyone notice that it only costs around $47 to fill the tank now (@ $2.59/gal)?

Anyone drive more now that prices have come down?

ahah I was thinking of the same thing. Gas price change so rapidly, I pump $25 each time now...that's about 10 gallons. So every 3-4 days, price slowly go down.

There's a chevron nearby that is $2.46 for 91.

Last summer I used to cringe everytime I go to a gas station. These days it makes me smile seeing the prices are going down.

Just yesterday one of the Costcos in the Denver area had Reg-$1.85 Prem-$2.06.
I did not think it would ever get below $2.00 ever again.

With the fuel discount at Safeway, my recent fill-up was under $40. Down from over 70 at one point during the summer. While the savings is nice, it's my 45 gal fuel tank in my boat that could've benefited from these low prices during July and August... lets just say I went to the lake with some paddles :P

I feel like digging up a big hole in the backyard, and put a 5,000 gallons gas storage tank, and enjoy the low gas for the next 2 years.
