Default Proof to parents that Mods help me

so.. they always ask.. What is this thing doing in our garage? did your car thing break off?

omg.. what? you spent money on this? what? stop driving fast... u already got pulled over for driving too fast, how fast do u have to go?

me: hey, these help my gas economy. gas is high now.

i decided to drive my car.. conservatively.. for the first time while on the way to my sis's graduation 3 hours away.

i ended up with a 29.3 +/- 0.1 MPG tank average.
well.. for my car its reported to have 28 MPG highway..

so is it because my mods helped or.. because im running on ENEOS oil?

hmm..

Hehe, yea, when i got this car, i could have gotten pretty much anything.. 250, 350, F, or a GS.. but i liked the good gas milage (and i got the same options as a 350.. ML woo!). With a 350, id be getting horrible milage because id be on it all the time, same with the F. When my lease is up on this car, i will likely pick up an IS-F or GS-F (if it comes out).

I think we should use the 100 octane fluid. Maybe it will have better MPG vs. Dollar rate. 4 weeks ago it was at $6.00 (Almaden Expway, San Jose).

Eneos saves fuel only on newer vehicles (something like after 98), but it drops about 3% hps.

hey nano, i think just stick to a regular synthetic in the oil weight you use. Like joseph said, it only works on 98 or newer cars. right now i have it in mines, and mines a 95... i'm honestly not seeing any difference after 2 tanks.

Yeah, newer cars only. Eneos does cost bit more than regular oil, but rated for 10,000 before a change. You can give it a shot and see if its any difference... Eneos come in 2 types, the more gas efficient one and hte performance one. give it a shot, who knows.

I just got around 26 MPG in my IS350 on Highway 5 coming from SoCal and I was averaging mostly 80-85 mph on the way while hitting 90+ at times.

I average 25 MPG going to and coming back from Socal, I travel at "slightly" faster speeds than DrShoe. Only have axelback exhausts that don't do jack squat. and my car requires a tuneup... =( I also need to drop in my 5spd Diff to get better better gas mileage...

Yes it sure can, I've done it on freeways getting about 30-31 mpg but only at around 70-75 mph. Others have said 60-65 mph on the freeway will obtain almost 35 mpg for the IS350 but I've yet to try it. It all matters on how hard you drive it because obviously hitting 80 or above will decrease your MPG significantly.
