crazy.... we all could live without it and did with the old version ... we can live without it until it becomes more available.... maybe it sucks, who knows? i'd usually let ppl buy first and then buy later. haha

I'll probably be buying one today. If its still in stock. If not, I'll wait until it is. Don't need to waste my life waiting in line for a phone. But it will be better than the last for sure. I am primarily upgrading because of the improved call quality it is supposed to provide. Also I can basically buy this one for free, since I will be selling my old phone for roughly 250-350 on ebay. Although my monthly bill goes up about 15.

I will be probably getting it when it is more available. Only reason I am getting it is because of vaistech kit. LOL. But then probably can't put much movies in it because a movie = 4gb.

Went at 7am this morning and waited about 2hrs and got a white 16g and had to direct fulfill order a black 16g because they ran out of the black. Should get the black one next week. This is my first Iphone because I wanted to wait for the 3G.

Only problem now is the network is down for activation

What kind of movies are you putting on the thing??

You need to format down your movies. If you are using a Mac(i think they have a PC version too). Use "handbrake" and format your movies for iphone.

Most movies are roughly 250-500 mb depending on how high a quality you want. honestly standard quality works just fine on an iphone. I usually load about 5-6 movies onto my 8 gb before a flight, and I still have tons of space for ipod use. Just watch battery life.

Voice Recognition now???
I would get it if it has voice reconition. Since bluetooth headphone is a must now for the new law, it makes hands-free not possible.

I dont think it has voice recognition. Its the same Ole' iPhone but it has 3G, integrated GPS, a plastic backing and Version 2.0 SW pre-installed.

I'm not getting it, but i waited with a couple of my friends. I was at the downtown Apple store in Sf, and there was not much people.

Plus, it cost 10 more dollars for the monthly fee which will hurt us in the long run.

My brother is at Valley Fair right now waiting for the release. Says there are crowds of people waiting in front of the Apple store.

Also, is that $10 more for the Data plan or just fees in general? I know for the regular iphone the data plan is $20 extra with AT&T.

Anybody around the East Bay got one or saw any long lines? I didn't think it was worth waiting for plus I have to work today but I would like to pick one up tomorrow if possible.

As for the extra $10 for the new data plan, I don't really mind it but cell phone fees are getting really ridiculously high these days no matter the provider.
