Default No front plate ticket sign off?

Hi guys,

So I got a no front plate ticket in SF last night. Needless to say I was pissed. This was at like 2 AM too. Anyway, I decided to bite the bullet and just put the front plate on.

Where can I go to get it signed off? Do I have to go to the DMV? How long does this take? Any other methods? I'm in Fremont, so I don't want to have to go to the city for this. Also work in Hayward if that helps.

BTW I relocated here last year from Chicago so I don't know all of these stupid CA rules and regulations...

Oh well.

Thanks for the advice.

You should be able to go to any DMV or see any peace officer and have them sign it off.

The ticket is not city specific.

Once signed off, im pretty sure you can mail the ticket in with the $10 fine.

just zip tie the plate the the bottom grill... as long it is securely attached they will sign it off.. once its signed off u can take it back off and risk a ticket again.. this way u dont have to punch holes in ur bumper.

Zip ties no longer cut it. They have to be bolted on so it looks permanent. Also for these tickets you can sign them off anywhere. Try your local Starbucks.

WRONG! as stated above by Jspec you cannot "zip tie" a front plate on. It needs to be properly fastened to the car. If you live by a courthouse you can easily have one of the officers at the metal detector sign it off for you.

Went to Fremont PD today and had them sign off on it. I already had holes so it wasn't a big deal for me to add it on. Thanks for the replies. Front plates are damn ugly.

Yeah I know. I'd be happy with a Euro rectangle plate or a plate with a custom whale tail background.

I had two no front plate tickets signed off while using the zip tie method on my old ride. One cop commented "you just going to cut those off as soon as you get home aren't you?" but he signed it anyways. I did cut them off as soon as I got home.
