hey i was around there near the same time too
i sat near the bar but at a high table

shrimp and scallop skewer was only ok

their riesling white wine was too sweet even for a riesling

and OMG, i just realized that booze is so much cheaper here in US than Canada
lol
i just picked up a bottle of Conundrum white wine and a bottle of 18 years old Glendiffich

but damn, i just found out i can only bring 1.14L total in at a time
2 combined = 1.5L

looks like no conundrum for me this time, gonna give it to my colleague

Asian Pearl just opened, very nice decor but a bit pricey. For more budget dim sum that is pretty good, you can go up to the next exit at 880 and Stevenson and go to Fu Lam Moon. It's strange that with so many Chinese people in Fremont you would think there would be more good Chinese restaurants but there aren't. Many more in the next city down in Milpitas. At Pacific Square in Milpitas on 880 and 237, there's Mayflower and Golden Island and ABC, along with King Crab on Calaveras. BTW, I think that southern Chinese food is the only type of good Chinese food and I'm jealous that the greater Vancouver area has more good HK-style restaurants than in the Bay Area IMO.
