What is there to do & where to eat in San Jose/Fremont?
I just got a job with Asus as their Channel Marketing Specialist for North America
i will be based in Vancouver for a year but will have to often make a trip down to Fremont
starting with my meeting and training at their HQ in Fremont in November
I will be there from Nov. 3rd to Nov. 7.
Company is allowing me only a $35 budget for meals each day
where should I go to maximize it and still get the flavour of the Bay area?
also where to go at night thats not crazy but is relaxing (jazz bars...etc?)
thanks!

You definately have to check out the Pacific Commons on Auto Mall Pwky. Between Hwy 880 and Cushing Pkwy. there are plenty restaurants to choose from.
One of my favorite is Kinders BBQ on Boscell Rd. They ribs, chicken, pulled pork sandwhich, etc... really good stuff.

You've got to try Sala Thai if you are in the mood for some good thai food. Good prices and the food is great.
You should check out yelp.
Fremont doesn't have the best of the bay in terms of cuisine, but there are a few decent places. Kinders is ok. Sandwiches are good. Semo Sushi or Satomi sushi are the main digs for a decent sushi meal in Fremont. You'll definitely break the bank with sushi for dinner though.
For good soon-dubu (or korean tofu soup), hit up four season tofu house. Very good and cheap.
Other than the few staples above, not much else to rave about...

ah nice
i just realized that i probably dont have to worry about breakfast
i have a marriot gold card so if i stay at marriot, i get free yummy breakfast
so that leaves me $35 for lunch and dinner which is a bit more doable
