Another successful J Town event
Thanks to JUNIOR for making it happen for the 8th Bigger and Better year.
Thanks to WEKSOS for sponsoring this event. I met a few of them and they are a kewl bunch of people.
Thanks to all of those who participated in this event, PLUS a BIG thanks to all the members that came to support us. I also made some new friends as well. The NorCal crew just gets bigger and more close knit as we go. Along with these growing relationships comes more hook up and technical resource. We are all stronger and wiser as a group then alone.
Most of the SoCal CL crew could not make it up this year, so it was nice to see JavyLSU make the trek up from SoCal and unveil his Brembo 4 corner set up. I'm also glad Sean "JDMPalace" got in the show at the last minute, by finding an available slot with Heavy Hitters.
It was a long day, but worth it. The night before JavyLSU and I worked late into the evening to finish up CThruIS350s latest mod. An ISF style REAL QUAD Exhaust. The next morning Josephdoc, CthruIS350, Baoser, IS350Johnny and myself headed up at 7am to the show. We ran into one CHP merging with us along the way. I'm glad he just blew by us without much fanfare.
Not to push our luck we were good for most of the trip, with only ONE 100+ mph spurt that everyone did to help CThruIS350 test out his new exhaust set up.
We met up with the rest of the crew in SF and rolled in together around 8am. We finished judging around 1pm and then went up to have lunch at Benihana. The Mochi Desert afterwords did me in.
Last year the NorCal crew took home 20 trophies, but this year it was much harder to place as the categories were trimmed down to either 1st thru 3rd Best Lexus or 1st thru 3rd Best VIP. Basically most of us were vying for one of 3 available trophies with a LOT of stiff competition.
The cars that showed this year were top notch. A LOT Big Guns from SoCal came up, so we knew placing this year was going to be a challenge. Heavy Hitters cars took home over 10+ trophies and their rad BMW took home BEST OF SHOW.
Nevertheless, I'm happy to say that NorCal CL members took home 4 of the 6 available trophies.
JDMPalace - 1st VIP
TAMR_GUS - 3rd VIP
JosephDoc - 2nd Best Lexus
RMMGS4 - 3rd - Best Lexus
Overall there was an estimated 8000+ spectators and regardless of any awards, I'm proud to say we did a great job repping the Lexus Name as there were A LOT of people checking out our cars and A LOT of people taking pictures. You could see in the eyes of many the appreciation for the various models and styles of cars we had on display. This will do a lot to promote and grow the popularity of Lexus in the tuner scene, plus I bet there will be modders switching over to Lexus when it comes time for them to find a new ride.

With the afternoon rain and the cold whether, the event wouldn't of been half as good if it were held outside.
I CANNOT BELIEVE the LONG LONG lines of people that came to see this event.
The crowds were un-believeable.

when I saw that IS, I first thought it was a Bimmer
Johnnyboy-what happened to your front lip?? did it get damage on the way to NorCal?
yeah..the line to get in was CRAZY LONG..I think it took us maybe about 45 or longer to get in..but it was worthy..it's always nice to see some crazy sick a$$ cars..
