If you want real Japanese sushi chefs and have master certificates from Japan, go to Sushi Kuni 10211 S De Anza Blvd, Cupertino, CA‎. It doesn't get any more legit.

Everything there is all traditional sushi.

If you want good roll, hands the best in the south bay is

TGI SUSHI in campbell

http://www.yelp.com/biz/tgis-sushi-campbell

I live in LA now, but i always rant to my friends that this has been the best place to get sushi.

There are other locations, but they dont seem as good to me as the orginal campbell location..

You can thank me later CL. ENJOY!

- Sushi Sam's in San Mateo - Sushi was good, rolls were standard, kinda pricey, normally busy
- Kaenyama - Rolls were small, sushi was fresh, sushi boat came with Uni which was a plus. Not bad for Fremont
-Satomi Sush - Small neighborhood spot, standard, nothing special
- Ray's Sushi - Good for the price, Chirashi is great for the price, nice fat slices
- Tomadachi - not bad, but nothing special
- Tokyo Gogo - Trendy cool vibe, hand rolls are great, go for happy hour
- Semo Sushi - Haven't been since the remodel, but a lot of roll selection, a bit pricey, but good variety, service can be hit or miss
- Harbor Sushi - Avoid this place...

Sushi Kuni is a very good pick for izakaya food (place for drinking and get drunk).

Kaitai in San Jose j-town is one hair better for general dinning dishes.

Authentication is importan in Japanese food; just like I eat Chinese dishes cook by Chinese only.
