Ok so I drove up to Sac, then Folsom, then back to San Jose today. I got pulled over and cited for speeding (the number is not important ) and no front plate in Fairfield. No big deal. Its been 6 years and I was asking for it. But here is the thing: From San Jose to Sac CHP officers were everywhere. Most of them hiding in the shade of overpasses standing next to their driver doors using Radar or equivalent devices and then jumping in and chasing people down. This is how I got tagged. I actually was pulled over waiting before he even caught up since I had seen him and knew i was busted.

Does anyone know if there a sting or special operation going on? Or are they just out to fix Cali's budget?

BONUS: I got pulled over a 2nd time tonight. This time here in San Jose but it was for a much lesser speed, barley over the limit, so the CHP officer let it go (I think he got over eager hoping for some thugs in the dropped Lexus, not me).

it is saturday night. Just came home from the city and yeh, there's a lot of cops out looking for drunks.

 

Surprising last night i didnt see any police, thats good because i was cruising at around 75 and drivers were going at 80+ . But yeah polices are everywhere, the stations are broke! they need to gain revenue from something

This morning I drove out to Yuba City where I used to live. For some weird reason I decided to take a different route. From San Jose I hopped on 680 and crossed the Benicia bridge. As Im driving on 80 I notice 3 CHP cars nicely tucked in bushes, under shady over passes, or at the top of an overpass scoping out the traffic. This was all between the Fairfield to Sac stretch of I-80. I then get on 113 toward Woodland and along the way between Woodland and Yuba I pass up 3 more CHPs along that stretch. All having a car pulled over. Finally, I get to Yuba. I do what I have to do. I go home on I-5 this time. It seemed pretty clear until I got to Tracy. As soon as I get on I-5 South to 205 West I see 5 Sheriffs and 10 CHP cars parked off to the side getting ready to do some justice. I keep it cool all the way through Livermore. I pass up 2 more CHP officers that have a guy in handcuffs on the side of 580W. I cross through 84W and get on 680S. More CHP parked behind bushes on freeway entrances in Fremont-Milpitas area with vehicles pulled over. Then Finally, I arrive at my home in San Jose.

I dont know about you but I definitely think something is up.

 

I saw about 10 cops yesterday, decided to stay home today haha...

Do you have a radar detector?

I been seeing a lot of CHP from SF to San Mateo area on 280. I always get hit by them with laser.

 

ah crap.... .... I drive that route daily ....

 

i saw one today also hiding behind a overpass post on 101 north at SFO Airport area at 6pm

 

Not even a radar detector can save you sometimes..

Time to invest in a laser jammer..

 

Pretty much the same route and experience as me, minus my ticket. They are most definitely out in stronger then normal numbers.

 

I always see CHP motorcycles on the side of the freeway on 680S from Jacklin to Hostetter in the mornings. They get people all the time.
