Default Found a Dealer Willing to Special Order RX350

Yay!

After two months of calls, emails and visits, I finally found a dealer who is willing to order an RX350 for me, configured as I prefer:

2010 RX350, Matador Red Mica, Black Leather interior:

AWD
Premium Package (PM)
Sport Package (SP)
Backup Monitor (EC)
Tow Prep Package (TO)
Parking Assist (PA)
Accessory Connector (JC)
Cargo Mat
Cargo Net
Wheel Locks

He says he'll put it in the system on June 20/21 for preferencing, and they'll order it REGARDLESS of whether I want to buy it. This was a sticking point for other dealers, since it doesn't have Nav.

This will allow me to actually DRIVE the sport package version before I make up my mind about what I want.

He says the VIN will be available for me and the financing arrangements within 4-6 weeks of the preferencing order. SO maybe by the end of August.

Progress!

FTR, this is Lexus of Pleasanton, and the salesman is Darren Mickaelson. So far, so good!

Yep, the sport package is nearly imaginary.

And I don't want Nav. And I want the Matador Red.

Thus, an orphan car for the dealer if I don't buy it.

Received our new RX450H (Red/ Parchment nuluxe, 20" wheels, Panorama roof, Nav, etc.......) last November, and it is our 10th Lexus since 1990. On 93 octane gar, my wife consistently gets 32-35 mpg when she drives, while I get between 28-30. In Florida during the summer, mileage decreases somewhat.
We have not regretted having any of them, and reflecting on the quality and cost- saving over the other brands we've had over the past 30+ years (MB, BMW, Acura), I'd say that they all were excellent choices for our needs.
I originally thought that this would be the one that I'd buy once the lease is up, but reading about the 2023 plug in hybrid coming soon, or the RZ, I may bite the bullet and go for the next generation in 2 years....
Interesting that Carvana is now willing to buy this vehicle for 2K more that my buyout, after only 9 payments have been made on the lease !

Loving the RX450h at this point, only wishing that EV mode worked above 20MPH !!!!

Cheers,
Ed

Are you referring to the F Sport package, or is the "Sport" package something different ?

My RC F is my second lexus--first was a 2008 350 ES we had for 14 years and sold for 25% of its original sales price. Concur that Lexus is much easier on pocketbook than MBZ (had 3, 2 ended up given to charity as too expensive to fix). I'm enjoying the V8 (fun car, first muscle/pony car). Yah, big carbon footprint, but that's not important to me at my age (and frankly don't give a darn about climate change since at 72, I'm out for fun for what little time I have left). Lexus reliability is why I didn't buy EU cars (Porsche, BMW, MBZ) or American (Charger, Challenger, Corvette, Mustang). Funny, Lexus being Japanese, you would expect the electronics to be top of the line--well, the Nav system and drivers panel views really stink compared to other cars; other than that, though. RC F is a fun ride.
