Default Question to whom had trade in experience
The question is:

Say I trade-in a $15K old car for a $35K new car. The difference is 20K. When the dealer charges tax, do I pay tax for 35K or 20K? Does dealer pay tax on the $15K trade in?

on 35k. that tax on difference thing does NOT apply to CA period

Yea, you pay tax on the purchase price of the car.. they treat the trade is as cash down. The dealer doesnt pay tax on anything.

come buy a SIENNA FROM ME!! I work at DUBLIN TOYOTA. The Sienna is a WAY NICER minivan then the oddysey and im NOT saying that just because i work for Toyota. PM me. ill hook you up!

Nice.. do you know David in finance? He's one of my friends.. I was lookin to trade in my wife's RAV4 for a Sienna, but my credit sucks right now.
