Bad news if you ever get a flat on the Bay Bridge ...
Just in case any of you missed it, the CHP was telling the public what to do if they get a flat on the bay bridge ...
... keep driving!
The officer even went on to say he couldn't believe that people, like those with expensive wheels (rims up to 2k or more per wheel), just stop there. He said if he comes up to someone with a flat, or blow out, he will tell them to keep driving on it at a low speed with blinkers on - no matter how expensive the rim - until you get off the bridge (onto SF's crappy roads with horrendous traffic ) He finishes off by saying - "whats more important, a rim or your life"
So all you folks here with forged, imported, brand name, expensive wheels -- you may want to avoid the bay bridge - just in case.
Save the Wheels!!

I wonder if you call road service before CHP arrives, will they attempt to fix a flat on the bridge, or perhaps they may have the same policy as the CHP in the interest of safety?

yep in all honesty, he's right. When I went there there was no shoulder lane and I wouldn't want to go out with car speeds reaching up to 70mph

that's not surprising,,
I've seen lots of BMWs being pushed by CHP..(I felt bad when I saw the CHP pushing off those BWM using their METAL BARs...)
well, you can at least try to get off at TREASURE ISLAND

Its all in the interest of safety.
It is also highly recommended that you not stop to fix a flat on the shoulder of ANY freeway. They recommend to get off at the nearest exit and find a parking lot to fix the flat.
I've been pushed out of the Caldecott Tunnel before when our Explorer overheated. Completely my fault, did not know there was no coolant, and didn't bother to check before driving off.
