Organizing Local Meets
Unless authorized by the administrator, no meets are 'official' Club Lexus sponsored events. We do recognize that our community members as individuals may organize local or regional meets and driving events and we offer the following recommendations: - Meets should be posted in regional forums only - Be clear in your initial meeting post stating the purpose/focus of the meet, when it is to be held (date, meet and end times), who is invited and any activities planned. Post detailed maps and directions from multiple directions. Pick central and safe locations for the meet location. Each driver should be personally responsible for his/her own safety and the safety of those sharing the road with them. For any events involving driving on public roads: - Always follow all posted rules and regulations (speed limit, road cautions, etc) - Follow good sense driving rules and caution; road driving is NOT a competition - Do not tailgate the person in front of you - No burnouts, drifting or other stunts - Turn Headlights ON for safety

I saw the video and it was very wrong of them to relate our gathering of car enthusiasts to "such clubs" as those of illegal street racers.
This club is not just about cars but rather family oriented and provides other fun and exciting things to do and enjoy w/ one another among friends, kids and family members.
The film crew just happened to be at the spot where we were at and coincidently filmed our friendly "egg roll/pizza" and "video game" fathers and mothers who needed to hang out w/ the boys/girls for a breath of fresh air.
The babysitters were busy so some of them even brought their kids along.
Illegal street racing is always prevalent and inevitable on the many public/private streets anywhere. Unfortunately, decisions are made w/ the utmost senseless act of endangerment to oneself and to others.
Like many other car, bike, motocycle, trailer, boat, ski and anything that most people have in common that can create such a social outsource of commonwealth, there will be "bad apples" that will eventually spoil the rest of the crop and put a temporary bad impression upon the general concensus.
The media is visible when u at least expect it and they will use every and any resource that they can get their hands on to provide messages to the general public. Sometimes, it's projected in a way to make people believe that it's the truth. But it's not the truth because it this case, it's the false.
However, if we, as a club, continue to move on and have done in the past to promote positive awareness to our community and others, this will bring down the barriers and bring truth to others that they may have perceived upon us.
