Default Anyone want to do a NavHack on a 2IS? $$$

Anyone want to NavHack (cut the speed sensor & ground the parking brake) a 2IS in the East Bay (Dublin)? I don't have the guts to do this mod but would love to have DVD functionality while driving, MP3 folder browsing, caller ID, etc. PM me with how much your time is worth.

I am not an expert in 2IS but I did mine (06') in early 06', by following the instructions from our 2is forum. I remember it was confusing because there were a few different configurations (ML/non-ML/DVD/NAV...) and all with different procedures.

It is not because guys here (and I) don't want to help. It is not hard but it makes more sense to get the hack box now because you will gain access to all the blocked functions. I believe cutting wires only allows DVD playback while driving.

PM to Rominl (club's Admin) if you are looking for the hack box for your car. It is just much simpler to do this with the box.

I wouldnt recommend cutting the speed sensor to the nav, it will make the nav very choppy.. you can still disable some stuff though, and allow you to watch DVDs while driving and dial the phone.. i did mine, its not tough. Im in Fremont.. shoot me a PM, we'll talk.

as long as you wire a switch, there should be no problem

Who all makes these switches/hack boxes? This place near my place in Dublin (Kar Tunz in Pleasanton) wants to charge $350 for their "custom solution." Sounds like a rip off.
