Don't cut the wires. Get a over-ride kit so you can keep ur warranty. The kit usually comes with clear instruction for you to DIY the job.
Contact (private message) to Rominl if you are looking for the kit. Rominl is one of the club-admin here and a lot of us are using his products. The over-ride kit allows you to enter address, access to the phone list, and also enable video playback while driving.
