Paid professional models can cost several $k for 5-7 of them. Also for large scale events, there's insurance, security, porta potty and at the end of the day, most guys charge are there to make a profit or raise funds for a charity.

I know when we hold meets that are hosted by Lexus dealers that their overhead costs to sponsor the meet are easily $2k to $4k. In past EOS events where we have given out $20k worth of free raffle items and provided free food and drink, that this can only be accomplished through many hours of volunteer time by local CL members, not just on the day-of-the-event, but usually 2-3 months of preparation.

I'm not making any money off doing my events.

I really appreciate all your support.

I try to keep all my events FREE to the attendee's.

I do these events for the love of bringing car lovers together.

There is costs to putting these events together, yet alone the time and energy that it takes to coordinate everything. Since everything is handled primarily by myself, its definitely time consuming. Please dont expect this to be on par with a full on car show. This is what I consider a car gathering. We dont judge.

See you guys this weekend!

^ I was not being critical of your event (obviously, since it's free ), so I hope you didn't take it that way. Thanks for doing this. Wish I could make it.

Anything free related to cars is good. Thanks for throwing this. Wonder how many So Cal cars will come?

It will be interesting to see who comes from SoCal as I haven't heard any word from my counterparts down there that any CL members are coming. There could be some non-CL member cars showing though.

Either way, I'm not going there to see Lexus.

We have our own meets coming up soon with EOS 80+ cars and The Pursuit 400+ LEXUS ONLY cars.

What interests me on this event is that there will be a ton of other nice rides, exotics, etc. that will be there.

Maybe next year we can actually have an Organized Crew to rep. at this event.

Bugzy, please contact me in advance next year so we can set this up. Too short notice this time.

Yup I have other commits that day too so 1 hour max.

I'm gonna scope it out and then we can plan for next year. Just like what I do for the WEK-FEST event, where I round up about 25 cars, of which 8-10 were from LA. This takes advanced planning though, so I hope we'll hear about the date in advance so I can coordinate.

Whether any of us go or not this event is happening. From what I've read on other forums, rumors are this event is gonna be BIG.

Don't worry man... I don't think anyone from CL was there when I was there.

I arrived around 11:45 and stuck around for about an hour. Saw many VW and BMW representing. But there was only 1 Lexus displaying his good... the infamous "sharpie tattoo" IS350 that was on Import Tuner. The permanent market is obviously fading...

Also, it wasn't free for me. I had to pay 5 bucks! I ended passing Paseo Padre exit and went straight across the bridge that cost me toll charge. But I snagged 2 cans of NOS and 1 bottle of NOS which made up for it.

Lambo next to matte black Aston Martin plus NOS girls next to Apollo.

Anyone else went?

Walked around for a couple of hours. Saw some nice cars, mainly Euros and Exotics. We had UV show and JDM PALACE in his LS430 made it. Talking to them it looks like we all found out about this meet at the last minute. I had other plans that couldn't be changed. Hopefully next year we'll know more in advance and I'll organize a crew to attend.

CL Members I talked to at the event:

Baoser
Kokonutjc
mdenoga
JDMPalace
ISPilot
UV
TY328

Hopefully Jeff will post pics of the event. I'll hit him up to post some up.
