No worries, as it allowed me to bring up a good point. This is a false impression that many new members get, which is why we instituted the Certification process this year.

The forums are open for anyone to post and last year it was out of control with spammers and we saw new members get dissappointed with some of the posted activities, assuming this represented the club.

In actuality there's usually only about 1 event a month that is certified. Everyone has only so much free time, so we would rather have people focus on the most worthy events.

It's fairly obvious to know what meets to attend by observing the events where the "Veteran" members (3 years or longer) come out of the woodwork and sign up, but you rarely see them post otherwise. You will also easily notice some posted events that have little or no response / participation.

Take that as a sign

This event was recently posted and looks for all the world like an activity that CL members would "TRUST" to attend and yet look what happened.


It's a perfect example that even though a CL member posted it, there was specific criteria that this thread did not meet, which is why it was NOT CERTIFIED.

Note that even for events posted by members with previous experience hosting CERTIFIED events, it DOES NOT mean that every event they post will become certified.
