Damn that sucks. But before you say that you were unable to see the light keep in mind if the judge wants to be an *** about it he may say you were following to close. I dont think he can add a fine but he may just make you pay the ticket just to make an example. Also I would spend the 80 or 90 bucks for a red light traffic camara gps that gives you a min 400ft notice of any traffic cams that way you never have this happen again. I bought one that is part of my radar detector and its paid for itself 10 times over. Good luck hope this helps a little

Beltronics and Escort both have them incorparated in there radar detectors. I own a 9500ix. Escort allows me to update the camara data base online. The first 90 days were free and then its like 19.99 a year. I plug mine in every couple weeks just to make sure its up to date. Or you can just buy a "Safety Camera Database" device. Whistler RLC-100 Red Light and Speed Camera Detector is one you can get for like 80 bucks. But if I were you Id buy one thats built in the radar detector. Two birds with one stone.

Prepare to grab you ankles bro... mine cost me about $580. You can try testifying that the semi was blocking your view of the traffic light. If the camera got a shot of the truck, you have a good case and depends on the judge to let it slide. But the judge can also say "if you can't see the traffic light then you should have proceeded with more caution..."

If you have stock Navi, you can program the camera locations in. Set all the known camera places (google them up) and add music to those locations. When you are 0.5 mile approaching the cameras, the music will play. The process takes time though if you want to program them all at once. I normally just add 1 at a time when I see there is camera at a intersection.
Also, from CBS news that I saw, there are something called sting ticket. When the camera catches a car for traffic violation, the police needs to idenfified the person in order to give citation. A lot of time, if they can not identify you (eg: you are not driving your own car), they just send out a notice and have you fill in your own info. The notice almost look like a real ticket except it does not have a court date and require you to fill up info. If you do, you are basically turning yourself in. Very sneaky.... You can google this up too.
