Joe Z told me that if you get the black pipe, it'll "look" OEM.

HYPERMKIV.....did you tell them you put a giant sheet (s) of a new color on your car?

No CARB sticker means its illegal in Cali. I've been to the referee a bunch of times to BAR/REF a swap in my civic and I highly doubt they would pass any aftermarket part without it being CARB certified.

Wow, what a crazy story. Guess I'll send my mod list to the DMV now.

Most of us know this is true. The most OEM looking intake is the black Joe Z (not polished and still used the stock air box.) This would get by most police officers. Some do get a class on modified cars that is put on by the CHP. This class was developed after the big Honda craze of intakes, headers, motor swaps, and stolen motors. I've been pulled over by a couple cops and once they found out that I was a firefighter, they became "COOL." Then I showed them my parts that WERE CARB legal on my Civic. So basically I gave them a class on the side of the road. This is why I only go CARB legal now, cause it's a hassle to change everything up every couple years. As I stated before, the black Joe Z intake pipe with stock air box looks OEM. That is all I'm saying. This added with cops not specifically knowing what a factory IS 250/350 motor looks like would probably get by the untrained eye.

Modified cars with 11-99 plates are more prone to be pulled over . Because all of the fake plates people are selling. Everyone thinks they can get out of a ticket with a silly frame. Lol

I feel you, ever since I first started playing around with mods I kept one rule and that was to stay close to OEM and stay legal. Thought about headers and all that jazz before but like you said its too much of a hassle to deal with everything. When I got my JoeZ i was sure to get the black JoeZ cuz I knew that would be the most stock looking, I didn't even slap on the sticker left that in my glove compartment. LOL

As for my exhaust am I going to have to go back to stock come SMOG time or can I take the exam with my dragger on?

^ If it's an axle-back exhaust, you should be fine for smog.
