Hey all you NorCal guys, just wanted to put out notice that I'm trying to find a 1st or 2nd gen GS with 180,000 miles or less. I can't spend much more than $5k, so if anyone out there is selling one, or if you know a friend who has one for sale let me know! Thanks guys. Cheers.

Thanks bud ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Yea, I've been scouring craigslist like a hawk for one up here for the last week or so. Some great deals have come and gone, but I wasn't in a position to move in on any due to transportation and scheduling issues. I'm very determined though, so I'll keep at it and having your eyes on watch is more appreciated than I can express![Woot](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/woot.gif)
Also if anyone else has any suggestions on other possible avenues to look in to on my pursuit, I could probably use the ideas. I'm sorta running out of ideas beyond craigslist, the newspaper, and local contacts (well there's vehix and auto-trader but neither of those seem to really come up with anything). Any other sites/services or solutions I might be overlooking?

Oh totally I couldn't agree more. I actually live in Orange County and yea there are deals down there non-stop, but because of a certain situation I'm in, I need to buy my GS and drive it back home down there
so yea it's a bit painful seeing all those deals I can't act on..

@aristo2369
Yea man, I've seen your ride, I like it
You're looking for a stock one right? I suppose I'd say I am too in practice, as I want to mod it myself, but I thought yours was done very well/clean. I'd be interested in what you thought was fair. For me the hallmark qualities of what I'm seeking are pretty much reliability, no mechanical issues, and just an overall sense that the car has been respected. But you'll never hear me complain if a ride just happens to be as beautiful as yours is as well

Well I'm having a hell of a time finding a GS still.. I've somewhat been limiting myself to second gen, as I'd really prefer that. Ive found a few really good deals on first gen, but the second gen deals I've found have gone fast. I determined to keep on top of it however, and maybe one of those second gen deals will go to me and not some other lucky driver
Anyways, just an update that im still looking!

1) Find someone who knows someone to take you to dealer auction. High miles cars are cheap as dealers arent looking to sell on the lot. I would help you BUT i just moved to Denver,CO. For your info, i just picked up a 2000 GS300 Platinum series with Navi with 135K for $5400 at the auction here.
2) Craigslist. Look SOcal as noted before. Look Nevada, Arizona, Closeby states.
Good Luck!

Thanks L3xotic, Yea, I've been wondering about that. A longtime friend of the family works for a dealer here and I've always wondered if it would be worth approaching him about it. That's pretty impressive you got that Platinum Series at what you did. How long did you search for it before you settled on that one?
