Default Windshield replacement shop

Can anyone recommend a shop to replace my 2IS windshield?

I can't afford OEM, IMO the aftermarket ones was actually stronger and they don't crack as easily.

What I need is good labor and skilled craftsmanship, i have had wind noise once when I had a Scion windshield done.

Thanks

Low Price Auto Glass on 1065 Commercial, SJ next to Pick n Pull.

They only charge around $15 - $20 for OEM upgrade. I was told they just add the difference, but don't mark up the glass and pass the savings on to you.

They guarantee their work too.

I am reading these prices like $800-$1200 for OEM glass..

hmm
if it is $20 more then of course I would go with OEM.

But how much am I expected to pay here, I am thinking anywhere $200-$400

Default OEM Glass replacement.

This morning at the 24hr fitness in Hayward my front passenger side window was smashed. Needed a place to get it fixed, checked CL found this old thread and called up Low Price Auto Glass. Cheapest price I found, paid $270 out the door for OEM glass. For that price I didn't mind driving all the way to SJ. CL coming thru.

Damn, that sucks! I go to that gym too, but I'm usually there around 11pm. Hope nothing happens to my car

To be honest, the only place I've been to is Kuttek Works. They are the best when it comes to windshields. Got windshield replaced in the 240sx, miata, sienna, and my mom's 325ci. Soon to be my SC300 when I get the cash. Super good price for OE quality windshields.

For my 2006 IS 350 front passenger side window

OEM price at Kuttek: $ Approx. 650 (Had to order, takes 2 days)

OEM price at Low Price Auto Glass: $270 (In Stock)

No brainer, although when I got the quote and noticed the big price difference I was worried that something was going to be wrong with the glass but nope, real OEM glass with the Lexus logo and everything.

I go at 5am most weekdays, just don't park in the back, and btw they have no cameras outside. I usually park in the back so nobody parks near me, but that backfired on me didn't it. My car became an easier target because of this. I believe the thief was looking for my waller or phone, I hear their's a big black market for used iphones. He did take my A's hat tho.

I had mine done recently at Secureway Auto Glass in San Francisco.

The good:
- Done in 1 1/2 hrs for $160 out the door (w/o insurance), friendly workers, life time warranty.

The bad:
The glass used was not OEM. First installation had really bad wind noise (brought it back and they fixed it), the urethane seal on top of the windshield was done really poorly, the lower plastic trim piece doesn't stick to the windshield. Overall aesthetically it doesn't look quite right but that's probably because I know the imperfections and it bothers me.

I would recommend them if you don't care about the aesthetics and just want your windshield done. For the most part it looks fine, I can post some pictures if anyone wants to see it. However, when I get a crack the next time I'm bringing it somewhere else if I have the extra cash.
