NorCal Certified Auto Cross at Marina Airfield with UFO Mini Meet, Photoshoot, Dinner
#46
Just drumming support for this event. Still on the fence on autoxing the IS. Just got it aligned with settings used by autoxers.
I was just at the site today for another club's autox. The course was set up for big Domestic cars, but plenty of other cars were in attendance. And the course was fast, even with slaloms.
The group is slated to run in Group 6. It mean's those competing have to work during Group 5's run.
Restaurant choices:
In Carmel:
Rio Grill: Calif cuisine, plenty of kit-friendly parking
http://www.riogrill.com/
In Monterey:
Sapporo: Japanese food, wharf parking (large lot, kit-friendly)
http://www.yelp.com/biz/sapporo-japa...sushi-monterey
Rosines: American cuisine, parking garage
http://www.rosinesmonterey.com/
Old Fisherman's Grotto: Seafood, steakhouse, see wharf parking
www.oldfishermansgrotto.com/
Turtle Bay taqueria: parking garage
www.fishwife.com/turtlebay.htm
It's actually perfect. You have something to compare to when you upgrade suspension/wheels.

Yes caravan plans!! Sorry, been super busy these last 2 weeks!!
If everyone is ok with it, I propose we all meet at my house in South SJ (Evergreen area) and caravan over!! If we're all down for that I'm going to PM each of you and lock in head counts and send out the location!!
We should be there at 11:30AM, so that means we leave SJ latest at 10AM!!

I will join if I break in F before then. I have just 107 miles on the speedometer. 800 more to go before I launch it. If I cannot break it in then I will atleast come there to check out the cars and the drives. I used to do lot's of track and autocross in my subie. This is my first real wheal drive so it should be fun.

come on boys!! MAN up!!! LOL time to go from boys to men!! :P
jkjk i <3 you all!!
The Plan:
Meet at my house at 10AM.
Cruise over to Marina, get there by 11:30 at the latest.
Have some fun!!
Tips:
- Bring SUNBLOCK (even if there is no sun, I got sunburnt my first time and there it was cloudy)
- Have only 1/2 a take of gas at the most, this will help your weight when you run (doesn't apply if you're not running)
- Bring your own helmet
- Bring chairs and water
- Bring CASH for registration
Ryan, anything to add??
I will PM everyone my address and contact info!!

I think I got everything covered in post #16.
This event is rain or shine. If you've ever wanted to let the back end of your car slide, or drift, there's less stress on your drivetrain in the rain.
The autox is not on twisty roads. It's in a huge parking lot and very safe.
