There is some good food right next to Berkeley in emeryville. It's a lil center with movie theater.... Otherwise there is aTON of places to get food right out of the campus. Noahs bagels and some pizza places. All kinds of food in walkin distance. Not gonna see any modded Lexus there though.

Ditto.
Within a block and half of the southern side of campus (on/near Telegraph) there are a lot of good eats. On Durant, there's the "Durant Food Court" where you'll find Italian, Thai, Sushi, Mexican, and cheap pearl milk tea (aka boba). There's Smart Alec's if you want burgers. IB Hoagies for cheesesteaks or chili cheese curly fries (yum!). La Burrita for cheap burritos. House of Curry or Naan n Curry for Indian food. CREAM is the ice cream sandwich place, etc.
Oh Shattuck, there's more food. Jupiter's for pizza and beer (they have their own brewery).
Up north a little is Cheeseboard for yummy one-flavor-a-day vegetarian pizza. (It's good, I promise!) and other eateries (I'm not as familiar with the northern side)
That's all I can think of for now. I haven't visited in about a year, so I don't know what other restaurants have popped up since then.
Have fun!

Thanks guys just got around the area. Seems like top dog is a super recommended place so I'll have to stop there. Any other famous places to eat around the el cerritos area? About to grab some food in a little. Kinda sad there's no modded Lexus in the area
