Default need help with tire sizing

I posted this on 1st gen IS and no one wanted to help. Does any locals wanna help me what this? Im going to pick up a set of LMs on Saturday and I want to know what tires i should get. The specs are 18x8 +38 18x9 +42. A guy from My.IS told me go 225/40 and 245/35. And another guy told me 215/40 and 225/35. Im not really sure what I should get. HELP ME PLEASE!

are you on springs or coils? thats pretty high offsets soo you might be able to go with 225 and 245.. but if you plan on going with coils you better get the 215 and 225

i'd do 215/40 and 225/40 if your slammed, if not then 225/40 all around would be fine even.

215/40 is really expensive tire though

I'm on coils. So 225/40 all around would look fine? Yeah I wanted 215s but it is pricey.. Any more options to get?

there is no #1 right tire size we can tell you to get...it depends on how low you plan on going. the lower you go the narrower the tire you need, if youre not planning to go low then you can run wider tires. do you want staggered sizing or square all around?

Heres some options:
215/40 all around
225/40 all around
215/40 front / 225/40 rear
225/40 front / 245/35

then it depends on what brand tire you get, some brands run wider while some run narrower

search on my.is for another car running similar rim sizes and offsets and see what size tire they have then you may be able to get a better idea. either that or just trial and error

Federal SS595 tend to run bigger than other brands. Nankang NS2 stretch well but dont last as long (If you are running a lot of camber) you have pretty conservative wheel specs so I think you'd be fine on federals.
