I'm not really a club kind of person but some school friends are coming down and they are unfortunately for me lol. I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on which are good. Also, not really familiar with this scene but how do guest lists work and how do I get on it ? thanks and hope this isn't too odd of a question hehehe

Be friends with promoters on facebook. I always get weekly invites to 1-2 events happening.

or you can go to infusion lounge but that's usually packed lol

you can usually get on the guestlist through the clubs website if you dont know any promoters.

theres a lot of places to go, just depends on what type of crowd you want IMO

depends what kind of crowd you're looking for... but there are so many to choose from in the city.
the marina (fist pump/house). - a bunch of free bars and a couple of clubs like marix and circa
broadway (depends... hiphop or house) - atmosphere, recess, sutra, dragon bar
soma (south of market) (mixed) - minna gallery, eve lounge, john collins, mr. smiths, temple

I'd suggest you just google up some clubbing events for halloween in sf. There are big events thrown at special venues (i.e., city hall, gift center, hilton, etc.) during these special days.

Promoters won't really be able to help you out much that night. Everywhere will be packed.

If you don't want to do the research, infusion lounge is always my fall back place for a good mix of top 40s.

Ruby Skye/Slide, Temple, Roe, The Parlor, Infusion and Matrix are all solid. You can usually get on a guest list through each venue's website, but if you're going with a large group you might want to consider reaching out to a promoter and doing bottle service.
