so I finally got around to taking pix.... here's the story... on my way back from HIN recently, I decide to push a little... .. taking the F at speeds well outside my comfort zone... after slowing to a decent speed.. I start hearing a scraping noise and I thought 'oh NO...my lip' ... sure enough.. my CF ventross lip was bouncing on and off the Tarmac like fat chick on a trampoline... good thing the lip had great mounting points on the bottom.. or else I would have been suicidal and crawling on the I-5 picking up pieces.. anyway... I'm glad that the lip/splitter did it's job and added additional down force at high speeds... Im just in a world of sorrow that the high wind speeds pulled the lip off the car (damn u 3M tape).. the damages aren't horribly bad considering I was going so fast... so I thought I'd share my pain with y'all

but on the way down.. I wrapped it with painters tape... didn't do it on the way back... now I'm paying for it

 

i think I'm just gonna end up 'bondo-ing' it and get it painted silver to match the car

 

next time dont use 3M tape.. just use electrical tape

was this with the 3m molding tape? I remember my friend gave me some cheap 3m tape which didnt hold my visors really well

 

Gah, that sucks KC. How about molding it and then have the paint fade out to expose the carbon?

 

I like the molded lip idea... never thought of paint fade.. that might be tite... I gotta figure out what I'm gonna do.. probably be awhile tho.... on the bright side... this gives me an excuse to 'tinker' with the car :P

 

yup.. 3m molding tape... it actually held really well before I decided to go faster than the speed of light
