Anyone going to fanime? More importantly, anyone dressing up for fanime?

 

god I think I'm too old for that... LOL plus I almost ran over a few cosplay people while driving around during those events.

 

<--- Has been staffing for Fanime for years, but that's because I'm really good at Public Relations LOL

I don't really cosplay, plus I'm always so busy running around making sure everything is okay. Working for Fanime = selling your soul, but I love how everyone is so friendly and so much energy!

That said....I also love trolling the gamers haha.

 

Gonna be my first geekfest. I couldn't get tix to SDCC so fanime will do. I need to make my lego head!

 

Well be prepared for long, long, long lines lol.

Last year we had 10,000+ attendees.

With all this talk about "us SJ people" wanting to set up a meet, this is a perfect opportunity for the "SJ community" to get to know one another...

Slightly OT but in the past, people always talk about wanting to go to meets, or wanting to start their own meets; but as soon as a Certified Meet rolls around they tend to never show...

If you want to have a small get together? tech meets are often the best way OR finding a spot where the food is good and cheap would be good.

If I may suggest... you can always do a mini meet near Evergreen Valley College... at that little mini mall... Plenty of parking on the wooden fence towards the field, plus there nice cheap places to get some eats.

Forgot that was coming up haha. Listen to Nancy... there are going to be looong lines. I work for fanime's dealer's room, so I get around all the lines each year. I don't think i'll ever cosplay, or get that into it, but I enjoy workin there to see all the interesting stuff the other dealers bring in.


If anyone else is going, we should have a little meet-up or something . I'll probably be driving there, and have to stay at the hotel to work for the whole weekend anyways

 

There's also the Big Wow Comicfest 2013 - May 18-19, 2013. I think that's lesser known.

Seriously!?!? These 35 "San Jose People" just met up yesterday at the FNRR certified meet over in Fremont. Rolled to Canibeat afterwards. Then hung out and had dessert. Some of us were still hanging out well past 2AM.

Everyone in this thread keeps talking about meeting up... Well, we have meets planned out- with more on he way. It's just a matter of coming out to them.
