Smog check update 2013

Basically vehicles year 2000+ won't require tailpipe test, just an obd2 scan.
Maybe those of us with headers and high-flow cats can pass a bit easier now, assuming the place doesn't do a good visual check![Wink](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

The purpose of eliminating the tailpipe test is because your car already has the proper equipment to tell the state if it is running properly.. your ECU, cats, O2 sensors, etc...
That being said, there will always be a way to try to screw the system.

Of course it will. If you car does not have cats, it will fail the OBD monitor for catalytic efficiency. Unless you have simulators... and in that case, it would then fail a visual inspection for not having cats or rear O2 sensors.
