If its a Black LS430 i think 2001 or 2002.... Run in the other direction! There is someone trying to dump their problems on anyone willing to bite. A couple of other CL members can vouch this if they happen to see this thread lol.

The guy is trying to avoid paying taxes on the car... I wouldn't buy from him even though I have some friends that do this all the time.
When I buy used cars from private sellers I like to have both our driver licenses photocopied on the bill of sale. That way there will be no doubt the transaction actually took place. Should be good document in court if he claims his title was stolen/forged etc...

I would pass on it unless you transfer it at the DMV. I will never buy a car from private owner unless they show up at the DMV.
Bought a car a few years ago. Owner had paper work and sold me the car. When it was time for me to register it. The car had a lean on it and could not be transfer until it was paid off. I was out 4k and she owed 4k to the lender.
If I had went to the DMV and transferred it, then I wouldn't have had the problem. since I would found out and would pass on the dam car.
