Towing Hook
Hi, I came up with a great idea to use my 2019 Lexus NX 300 to pull and root out three shrubs from my front lawn. Before I screw this up completely to the delight of the entire neighborhood, is there a hook in the back of the vehicle to tie a recovery rope? I see that there is a panel underneath with a "Remove" label on it. Is it there where I can find a reliable hook?

The tow hook and directions for its use are on page 355 of the Owners Manual. If you do not have one, a PDF version can be downloaded on the Lexus web site.
The "remove" cover is to provide access the center rear jacking pad. The tow hook should be stored with the jacking tools and mounts in the front.
I would not attempt to pull shrub roots, particularly if they are junipers, with this vehicle, for 2 reasons:
-1- The NX drive shafts and front CV joints are puny; ~half the diameter of those on my 05 Toyota Avalon. Snapping one or damaging a CV joint could be expensive.
-2- If the rope snaps, it can fly back at the vehicle with considerable kinetic energy. A damaged plastic LED headlight, for example, can cost more than $1000 to have replaced..
