Default Tire sizes

Well, I have two rims that are 8.5 wide and the other set is 9.5 inch wide. I’m currently running the original tires tah came with the vehicle, 225/60/18. I want to run wider tires on the back, thinking 245/55/18 and drop 235/55/18 in the front eventually. But 245/55/18 is a semi expensive and rarer tire size. I wonder if I run 245/50/18 out back and the same 235/55/18 up front will it still keep the speedometer reading the same? I do have the awd NX versus the front drive. Thoughts and advice anyone?

I just replaced tires with Michlin Defender 2, 225 60 R18 I started to jump up to the 235 60 R18 but didn't. The only difference that would have made was 1/2 inch taller and 1/2 inch wider. I would be afraid that if you ran a different size tires on the front than in the back that you may receive some type of fault code and mess up the traction control system. If your dead set on what you're wanting to do. Find a comparison tire size tool online and do your homework. Just remember different tires on the front and rear is going to mess up getting the tires rotated correctly.

Ive been running my wheels and tires for about a year now. Staggered set up from my old ride, wish I had these same wheels in 19’s but I paid too much just to get them from Japan so I’m sticking with 18s for now. I’m running the stock tire size on the aftermarket wheels which are wider than the stock 18’s. But would like a wider tire for the rear on the fatter wheel.
