I have a problem with a UK NX hybrid that won’t open. It hasn’t been used for 6 months and I suspect the car battery is totally drained. I have tried changing the battery in the key fob, but that hasn’t helped. I then pulled the metal key from the fob and whilst it fits in the drivers door handle slot and turns, the door doesn’t open. I thought the manual key was for just this purpose, but apparently not. Local garages not being very helpful. Any suggestions?

 

Call your UK equivalent tow operator ( our CAA in Canada ) and they'll open the door for you , then pop the hood and charged up the battery OR and I'm not familiar with hybrid's protocol when it comes to jump starting but presumably it'll be OK for tow operator to give it a boost to start engine.
