My wife has 2024 UX250H. Last week a rock cracked her windshield. The Safelite auto glass tech said he thought a repair would be unsatisfactory so he recommended a replacement. We have OEM parts coverage on our cars. Reading the policy it looks like it applies to collision. I asked our agent if that meant comprehensive too but he wasnt sure. He called Safelite and they said the repair order noted OEM had been requested. I'm wondering how I can tell if it's OEM by looking at the windshield. Who makes windshields for Lexus?

Possibly going to be AGC glass —a supplier for Toyota. Look at the corner of the cracked windshield to see what the current brand is -it will be printed on there. If the glass is coming from Lexus, it will typically have the Lexus logo with the supplier name underneath. If coming direct from the OEM supplier, it would just have the supplier name (eg. AGC).

My understanding is that ALL panes on your vehicle, when purchased from Lexus, will clearly have the LEXUS logo on them. If it were me, if I really wanted LEXUS glass I would ensure that the glass being installed had that same logo. But, that's just me
