Default Normal to hold insulation in place with tape?

This is on a certified used 2021 NX300. Is tape to hold insulation in place an aftermarket thing? Or is this how it comes from the factory?

Not sure, but as long as it's high-temp/heat resistant, and it's holding it in the position/place that it needs, then I don't see any problem with it.

I've never seen tape used, I would guess it should be some form of clamp. From the looks of it, though, it almost seems that someone ADDED this grey insulation on - that it's not that way from the factory. I have a 2020 and I don't have that. I'm really curious as to why someone would put that on!

Someone else can comment.

I Have a 2019 purchased new, and that hose insulator wrap and tape is identical to your photo.
