Just want to see if somebody has similar experience.
My 2016 NX 200t started shaking when I was on highway and a bunch of lights including the check engine went off. Got towed to the local Lexus dealer and they got the codes: P11EE00,P030027,P030300. They told me it’s not drivable and need to replace the cylinder head at $9400.
Ironically I just went in for my yearly maintenance 3 days ago and everything was fine!
The car is at 55k miles. I just can’t believe this happened…Lexus/Toyota engine supposed to be super reliable?!
Any advice would be appreciated!

There is a TSB on this condition:

Unfortunately, your out of the powertrain warranty period. However, you can ask the dealership/Lexus for goodwill consideration. Otherwise, you would be better off obtaining estimates from reputable independent shops, as it would likely be much less. Retail price on the cylinder head is ~$1000. The rest of the job is labor.

So the car was towed to another reputable shop and they said they did the pressure test and no leakage, it’s the coils and spark plugs…when the Lexus dealer inspected they said they switch the coils and spark plugs but didn’t work…(didn’t sound like they did the pressure test)
I’m super confused…but if the shop can fix it by changing the coils and spark plugs, I’m all for it.
I guess will see…

May not be exact but worth watching:
long story short, the maintenance schedule from any manufacturer isn’t there for you, it’s for them. They want to lower cost of ownership from a marketing perspective , and they have pressure from government to increase fuel mileage.
i understand the manual says 0w20 engine oil, but that’s not great for protection. You’re better off using 5w30. And changing it more often.

so update to the story, I went to the other shop and they changed all my coils and spark plugs. Just drove 35miles to work and so far so good…finger crossed…will see I guess.
the shop told me according to the Lexus diagnostic video they did not do the pressure test and jumped to the conclusion it’s the cylinder head issue vs just the coils and plugs.
I definitely don’t know too much about cars…at this point will see…

A lot of folks on the Internet recommend a thicker oil instead of 0W-20 that's printed in the owner's manual. I'm not gonna say a thicker oil like 5W-30 won't work in the car, as I have no personal experience. But if you're trying to claim any type of warranty or even good-will, and the dealership tested your oil to be different than what's spec'ed in the manual, they can easily deny the warranty. Just keep that in mind.

My wife has a 2018 NX300, it started running rough and threw some codes.
The dealer said it would cost $13,000 to fix.
I installed new spark plugs and cleared the codes.
Now the car runs fine.
I guess the dealer just wants to steal as much money as possible.
Will never get another Lexus.
