Sucks that the US gets the ugly bumper compared to everyone else.

Only way to get the better bumper design is to opt for the F-Sport. Hopefully they have an appearance package ala RX.

.the reason why the US gets the more pointy proboscis is because of its classification as a light truck. It seems trucks are required to have some sort of concession to the car's approach angle – in other words, a truck should be able to clear an obstacle that a car might hit. Why does Lexus care if the NX is a car or truck? Well, that has to do with how fuel economy is reported, as trucks are given less-stringent requirements for Corporate Average Fuel Economy purposes.

Toyota to start U.S. sales of Lexus NX compact SUV in November -exec

Two important observations here:
1. we now have a sales figure for 2014 in the US at 3000. With 230 Lexus dealers in the US, the average is 13 NX's per dealer. We're not sure if Lexus will ramp up, or will be able to ramp up production if demand is stronger, but this "allocation" is in line with Canada's limited amount for 2014.
2. the sales projections have increased yet again. Back in April, it was 2200/month (26,000/year), recently got bumped to 3000/month (36,000/year), and now 3600/month (42,000/year).
Aug 8 (Reuters) - Toyota Motor Corp's luxury brand Lexus will start selling its new NX compact SUV in the United States from November and aims to sell 42,000 of the SUVs annually in Lexus's biggest market, an executive said on Friday.
Jeff Bracken, group vice president and general manager for Lexus, also said in a video shown to reporters at a Lexus plant in southern Japan that the automaker plans to sell 3,000 NXs in the United States in November and December of this year. The 300h engine on the other hand has a proven track record. it's the same engine in the Camry, Avalon, and es hybrid and all of these cars been on the road for some time now. Any problems with that engine should have been fixed by now. I wouldn't hesitate on buying the 300h.
