The only poor plastic I can find thus far is the plastic cover for the lower controls ie BSM, Trunk opener etc.. its the same waxy feeling one they use in the IS.
+1.

extending this to the glovebox and lower half of the door panels look to be the hard plastic as in the IS but I'm good with that because there's a lot more visible soft to hard plastic in the NX

Is that a push button fastener by the driver seatbelt latch?

yes, glovebox is only thing i can find not looking great... but rest is awesome. Even the door panels - more than half of panel is leather - everything from top to the under of the armrest is in leather. This is better than IS... heck, more leather than any other Lexus car except LS.

Of course, it will never beat GS, but nevertheless, I preffer leather to any kind of plastic no matter how good it is.

Default More info on availability and volumes (Canada)

I spoke to my Lexus dealer today and in Canada, each dealer is getting only a limited amount in 2014 (Q4). My dealer is getting 6 and they're one of the largest volume sellers in the country. They also might be constrained as to which ones will be available - TBD. The rest will slowly trickle in Q1 2015 and increase afterwards.

Those who want one this year, put your deposit and get your name in asap. I will be doing this on Monday as this is the car I've been waiting for for so long and my RX F-Sport's lease comes up in November (perfectly timed )

Curious to know the status in the US or in other countries...

Mods: I think timing-wise, we should consider opening up the official Lexus NX forum at this time.

So I was explaining that's not what the leather strap is for. We don't know.

Word on the street is that it's a cover for the charging mat

i thought he was talking about parking brake lever... you actually pull up the (P) lever to release parking brake, thats why there is space above it so you can put your fingers and pull up. We had this first in Avensis quite few years ago, it was introduced in 2009.

charging space is in first upper part of central storage bin /armrest.... and it is quite large so it can fit larger phones

They did a great job. Actually a little bit better than the RC center console IMO.

Can't see the front on the drivers side but it's on the passenger side. Looks to be high quality fasteners and great details to the cabin

That's not what I got from the post as I thought he was referring to the strap being part of the parking brake system which it is not.

i personally would dislike it if this was moved of car chat... only owners read sub sections in CL. Most of RC talk died off once the thread was moved to its own forum.

My thought would be to start the new NX forum when it is Officially announced at Beijing and all the specs are known. There is still a lot of speculation and unknowns.

I never understood why this was in the car chat forum to begin with though. Maybe there should be a concept /spy shot forum? A brand new vehicle in the Lexus lineup deserves better than chat.

There already is one, but just that barely anyone reads or even knows about it.
