Hater's gonna hate hate hate hate hate.
When he mentioned station wagon though, it made me think of this:
That brings back some good childhood memories.

And of course it came fourth in the test, because car reviewers can rarely (if ever) see past pure speed, handling and performance. The hybrid is a bit slower than all other cars tested.
And they only included the 300h in this test, because in Australia it was the only NX available at the time of the review. Because Toyota released the 300h several months before the 200t.

I have to say, I felt this review was pretty ridiculous. The 300h was the only hybrid out of the four. Of course it has quite different performance to regularly aspirated vehicles.

Not to mention the criticism of the CVT and brakes, yet it's perfectly fine for city driving, which is where 90% of the car will be used.

There is just something strange about Wheels naming cars like the VW Golf and Polo as "The Car Of The Year" 3 times out of the last 6 years. The Golf and Polo are (between them) made in the following countries:
Germany
China
Mexico
Brazil
Spain
India
South Africa
Russia
Malaysia
And you know what that means.
It reminds me of all the 1990s/2000s Land Rover Discoverys you see driving around with proud dealer-applied stickers on the back that say "Luxury 4WD of the Year", due to an award they won. With the benefit of hindsight, those stickers now seem like pure satire.
These are all cars that went great when they were brand new. But many have had catastrophic reliability records past 100,000Kms. Publications like Wheels don't seem to give a crap about any of that. And as a consequence, their award has no real legacy as the years go by - and in many cases, it seems a bit of a joke in hindsight.
