^^^ If styling, brand, and Ecoboost mediocre reliability track record are non-issues to the buyer, the MKC is packed with goodies at a comparably "cheap" price and will sell to these buyers.

There is room in the segment for the established models as well as the newcomers. The choice and competition is good for consumers and keeps the manufacturers on their toes. As mentioned both the NX and MKC will do well. I like certain things
about both.

For us, styling IS an issue. We are among those who wonder why Lexus appears to be trying to out-Cadillac Cadillac styling. As to brand/reliability, Consumer Reports doesn't show a problem with 4-cylinders, and at least the Lincoln dealer is in town. It's over an hour to Lexus -- over an hour and a half riding there in a rollback with the RX400h on board.

Like with the '13 GS and the '14 GS,they'll probably be more options available in the '16 model.

Kendig, knock on wood the 2.0/2.3L stay strong since the 1.6L in the Escape and the 3.5L in the F-150 have had fire and power loss issues and in fact a class-action lawsuit is being discussed.

Styling is totally personal and I can see how the latest L-finesse bold styling by Lexus can be unliked by some. Like you, I dislike the "overbite" NX front-end which is why that's out and if it weren't for the F-Sport lowered front bumper, I'd probably keep my RX or look more seriously at the MKC due to the solid value proposition.

Post pics of the MKC when you get it - always welcome.
