Consumers need to be cautious and understand that dealers will inflate the trade offer when purchasing a new vehicle in order to entice you to say 'what a great deal on my car, let's do the deal'... all the while they are holding back their maximum discount on the new vehicle price. This is a balancing act and numbers mind-game in order to get off-topic of the new sales price and make you feel like you are getting a fantastic deal (a scratch you behind the ear situation) since they are allowing you 'over market value' of your vehicle. Know where they are putting the money in your OTD price as they may be burying the extra (3k in your case) in the sales price of the new... thus, why you ALWAYS go into a dealership telling them that you are NOT trading anything in. then once you get them to their bottom dollar on the new vehicle, you throw in your trade. This will show you what THEIR fair market offer is on your trade... then you can compare the CarMax and KBB to see if it is in line... otherwise they are just playing the game with you...
I would love to see the structure of your deal...
That is basically what I do, except I tell them my trade and try to negotiate a differential price. The diff price is the bottom line, I going in knowing what others paid in my region, a lot of the car buying website does a good job of asking dealers for their best price, usually, there is another $500 to $1000 buffer there. Deal with the internet managers and try to get a bidding war going.

In MA, if we trade a car to carmax and buy from another dealer, we lose the sales tax deduction as well as carmax’s trade in offer which always come in at least a $1000 from the best deal I can find from the dealer. How to figure out what is the lowest price the dealer will accept, there is a couple of ways to do this; one, start low and work your way up or go in knowing from research what is a good discount, these forum and threads like this are very helpful.

It sounds like a good deal on a 2020 model year. The discounts aren’t that deep around here. Anyway, there is a great deal of debate on the extended warranty but peace of mind is certainly worth something.

Definitely good for a 2020 model.
I recently got them down to $39k OTD after all fees, taxes, tags, etc on an Atomic Silver, black interior F Sport with a msrp of $44,xxx. Still passed on it as I wanted $38k tops. I'll pick one up in Dec for possibly cheaper, lol.

I'm sorry I didn't specify, it is a brand new 2019 (left over). Still a good deal, but I don't see that happening with a 2020 model, lol.

It's a great deal for 2020 model. Did you get any lexus cash incentives this month? I got multiple offers from dealers with 11% MSRP discount but they said there's no cash incentives available.

Did not get any cash incentives, other than the special promo finance rate. Usually it is one or the other even with the 2019s.

Went ahead and bought it....2020 Atomic Silver on black, F Sport. Fully loaded....nav, panaramic camera/360/top down view, heated steer wheel, heated and cooled seats, kick lift gate, BSM, LKA/LTA, $48k sticker, got it for $41,000 OTD, plus, got them to throw in illuminated door sills! That's a $450 option! Very happy with the deal! Been working on them on an F Sport NX since this past summer when I bought my '18 GMC Sierra Denali from them (someone traded it in on a new GX460).

Congrats to the both of you. Just a suggestion, i`d list the discount amount separately as OTD is variable due to indiviual state dues and of course any dealer addons
