I wish I could find the "secret" way to get this to work on my NX while moving. On my 2005 RX, I could override that safety feature and type anything at any time.

I use a combination of the voice command and the Lexus apps to help do some things when typing is not allowed (basically searching for a destination or making a phone call).

Sorry, but I'm looking for a free solution, like we had for the RX. So, unless this "special price" is next to complementary, it's not worth it, IMHO.

Default NX Vanity Mirror Housing Redesigned for MY 2016!

To my surprise at the dealer today, the mirror now latches/clips in for MY 2016 vs being held by magnets on 2015 models.

funny, I didn't even know there were magnets. I thought it was just a snug fit. Maybe too many credit cards getting zapped?

Mine was manufactured on the 11/15 as a MY 2015 and has the clips.

Same for my Mercedes. Wife and I were driving on the highway on a road trip and decided we wanted to find a good Mexican restaurant and stop for dinner. We had no way to use the factory navigation to look unless we pulled over on the side of a busy highway which we felt was dangerous.
Good thing cell phones work fine.

I purchased my 2015 NX200t F sport without the navigation system

You can always use the Voice Commands on the NX, "Find Restaurants"

We tried, but both the Lexus system and Mercedes has major problems trying to understand names of roads. They get numbers pretty well but neither had any luck once we started saying names. Amazingly both Siri and Google maps did surprisingly well at understanding proper nouns

The NX has a Train Voice Recognition in the Setup now, and I've found it to be pretty good at recognizing my commands. You say several phrases it displays, so far mine has found what I was after.

Ahh... regarding the mirror... seems to be build-date related then! Good to know. I wonder how far back this goes into MY '15...

Thats new! I thought it was just padding on 2015 NX200t. Its pretty tight and I tried to remove it once and gave up. Is it on all Nx200t (magnetic or clip) or late models? I don't want to damage by trying to pull the tab.

Nah, you won't damage the tab. It's glued/sewed on there to the top really tightly. From my limited experience at the dealer showroom yesterday on a 2016 mode, the version with the clip was tighter to pull up than the prior magnetic version I currently have...

The tab on mine broke the first week I had my NX, in January of this year. I was surprised how poorly it was attached, held to the cover only by a piece of plastic and definitely not sewn on. It was replaced under warranty; it took about two weeks for the dealer to receive the replacement.
