2015 NX200t -F SPORT UltraSonic Blue Mica w/Rioja Red

According to Lexus Japan, the color offered to NX is the original USB (8U1). The USB 2.0 (8X1) is only available in RC-F and RC F-Sport in US.
I find the term USB 2.0 used by Lexus USA very confusing. It' doesn't explain a lot what has been changed over the original USB. What a lazy marketing effort.
The color 8X1 is called "Heat Blue C.L" in Japan. C.L. stands for Contrast Layering according to the Japanese translation of the full color name used by Lexus Japan.
The Lexus Japan brochure of RC F says it mimics the cool greenish white flame ("HEAT BLUE") when temperature is over 1500C. Lexus achieves it by having a blue clear base (i.e., blue tinted clear coat) in addition to the color base. That's why you see it is super shinny with great depth.
FYI, the orange color used by RC F is called Lava Orange C.S in Japan. In contrast, it is called Molten Pearl in US. This color also has special treatment as it has a white color base in the middle on top of orange base layer and a gold tinted clear coat finished on the top. Amazing to see it is not mentioned anywhere in US.

So, the new USB 2.0 and MOLTEN LAVA are $595 extra and only available currently on the RC

the official package is called:
F PC Special Paint
The luminous red paint is achieved through a meticulous paint process using four base coats of paint which are then baked twice. Layers of colored and clear coating are used to control some of the color’s reflections and establish a balance between the brightness and depth – two elements that traditionally work against each other.
For the red exterior, the factory starts with a base coat of silver and then applies a clear coat.
Then, the clear coat is covered by a translucent red coat, which is then topped with another clear coat.
The four coats of paint are baked twice to set the color.
As a result, light hitting the paint reflects off the red layer and also off the silver layer below, which adds depth and a metallic highlight to the red coloration. Prior to this new, two-color base process, the factory used base coats with the same color tone (red and red).

It sounds like it uses a similar process as Orange Lava C.S. Instead of having a white color base, it has a silver base.

Great color combo! My local dealer has one on the lot and it's a looker.
